Campaña Latinoamericana por el Derecho a la Educación

The Central American Meeting on Gender Equality, Violence and Education: Transformation Strategies was promoted by the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE, by its Spanish acronym) in partnership with UNICEF. Red Salvadoreña por el Derecho a la Educación (RESALDE) hosted this event in El Salvador. This final declaration is the result of debates, reflections and recommendations made during this meeting, based on participants’ contributions and we hope this may contribute to public debate and the creation and implementation of legal frameworks and public policies in Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly in Central America.

In the context of the meeting regarding the midterm review of the CONFINTEA VI, to be held in Suwon, Republic of Korea, from October 25ᵗʰ to the 27ᵗʰ, CLADE, along with other civil society networks and activists, makes a public call for action in defense of the right to education of youth and adults.

October 2013

In public position paper, 22 civil society networks and organizations are coming together for ensuring that the fulfilment of human rights is at the heart of the post-2015 development agenda, and that the education narrative, as well as goals and core indicators, is grounded in a human rights perspective.

In public position paper, CLADE reaffirms: the agenda which is to replace the MDG must renew global commitments to the public, free and universal education.
